Are you tired of the seemingly endless trial and error of finding the right medication?
I recommend testing if you have tried several medications and have had little benefit or many side effects. I also recommend testing if you have not tried any medication and wish to reduce the number of trials before finding something that works.
I offer GeneSight testing in my practice to either facilitate the care I am providing for you or as a part of a consultation I am providing another specialist managing your care.
The assessment takes place in two parts:
- Intake interview and oral swab.
- Review of results and clinical impression.
The review can take place in office or by phone. If we meet in person I can hand you a copy of your results and my impressions. If you prefer a phone follow up, I will mail/fax your results to a provider of your choice.
There is no additional fee if the results are reviewed in person. The cost of the test itself may or may not be covered by your insurance carrier. For more information, visit their website: www.genesight.com or contact customer service:
GeneSight is a genetic test that helps healthcare providers take a personalized approach to prescribing medicine for patients. Because genes influence the way a person’s body responds to specific medications, they may not work the same for everyone. Using DNA gathered with a simple cheek swab, GeneSight analyzes a patient’s genes and provides individualized information to help healthcare providers select medications that better match their patient’s genes. Multiple clinical studies have shown that when clinicians used GeneSight to help guide treatment decisions, patients were twice as likely to respond to the selected medication.
